Creating Unity Amongst Colleagues For A More Productive Workforce

The office environment is one that succeeds or fails based on how well the employees work together. Whether you are a company with ten people or a thousand, the employees need to work well together in order to achieve their goals. When you want to make sure that your employees are working in harmony, there are several things that you can do.
First, create social opportunities. One of the problems that many their employees do not relate to each other as people. Things like pizza parties and having a drinks night out at the local bar can help you get to know each other as people. With social contact, people are more likely to help each other and to make sure that common goals are executed. supervisors face is that Keep the balance of work equal. If some employees are doing more work than others, this creates an environment where it is difficult to trust one another. If someone can look over and see that their neighbor is doing less work for the same returns, this turns into a nasty situation where bad feelings simmer. Spread the work around and make sure that employees know that their efforts are all interconnected.
Solve problems together. If you have noticed a problem, open up a dialog and allow the employees to offer suggestions. When people can all see that they are working together towards a common goal, they tend to cooperate with each other more. They learn more about what their co-workers are thinking about and what their thought process is like. This encourages the team members to unite and to think as a group.
Allow for non-office chatter. Many offices have teammates that are connected to each other through a chat system. If you have a chat system, why not create a channel that is dedicated to simply chatting? A venue for co-workers to share some personal details and simply to talk about what is going on is a good way to make sure that everyone stays friendly while getting to blow off some steam. While it is important that everyone be courteous, an office chat is a good place to get playful.
Send employees to each other for help. If one employee is having a problem in an area that you know is well-covered by another employee, ask them to work together. Not only does this help you delegate responsibility, you’ll find that it also helps create a healthy sense of co-dependence in the workplace. You will also see who is good in leadership roles and who might be ready for a promotion.
Remember that teamwork is not something that happens overnight. It takes time to build up trust and compassion, and in some workplaces, it is harder than others. Consider what your team needs and how you can make sure that their needs are met. When you are a supervisor or a manager, you are going to discover that there are plenty of things that you can do to foster this important sense of camaraderie.
